Explore how to draw and simplify the complexities of people and botanicals to suit watercolour art. Throughout the course, we’ll learn techniques that capture the organic forms of people and botanicals, from loose gestural washes to intricate layered detail.
Whether you’re drawn to portraiture, botanical illustration or a blend of both, this course will equip you with the confidence to work with watercolour.

Required materials:
Watercolour Set - if you have one already bring that ☺️ if not a Mont Marte set like this is a cheap option and the Koi palette is a better quality option but a little pricier
Soft Brushes
A4 or A3 Canson Watercolour Sketchbook
Paper towel
Graphite pencils
Hard & kneadable erasers
Optional: Water Brush Pen
Week 1 - Intro/refresher to watercolour properties & mark-making
Week 2 - Painting plants: form, texture & colour
Week 3 - Drawing Portraits
Week 4 - Drawing the full figure
Week 5 - Combining people & botanicals
Week 6 - Starting 2 week project
Week 7 - Continuing 2 week project
