High School Workshops

High School Workshops

Alex has been working with high schools & teenagers for over a decade. She has a passion for youth arts education and loves the opportunity to introduce classes to new ways of working.

Alex creates personalised workshop plans for each school she visits, ensuring that the workshops are tailored to specific class skills, topics and interests.

If you’re a teacher looking to introduce your class to different ways of working or for your students to engage with a local artist shoot Alex an email to see what she could offer your group :)

Types of School Workshops Alex Offers:

  • Drawing Workshops

    pencil, charcoal, ink, pastels, etc

Alex’s practice is all about drawing!
Because of this she specialises in teaching a range of different drawing techniques, from general drawing to portraiture, monochromatic charcoal to full on coloured pastels.

If your class wants to learn more about any kind of drawing Alex can help :D

  • Mixed Media Workshops

    collage, paint & more

Mixed Media workshops are a great way to mix things up in the classroom. They provide students with a fun, low pressure way to get ideas generated and involve a lot of material play.

Often a great option for younger year levels or senior school students who need a break from their folio work to keep them inspired.

  • Colour

    Watercolour & Colour Theory

Alex’s love of watercolour and illustration has meant that she has fostered a deep understanding of colour and colour theory.

She teaches colour through a range of materials including coloured pencils, pastels, watercolour and acrylics. The best part about colour theory is that the subject matter can be almost anything :)

  • Digital Drawing Workshops

    iPad drawing on Procreate

If you have iPads on hand at your school Alex can take your class through how to use Procreate for a range of different projects.

From creating thumbnail sketches and designing compositions to putting together a fully rendered artwork, digital drawing provides a fun and versatile way to create!
