Code of Conduct
To ensure every participant enjoys a creative, safe, and respectful experience, all students and attendees must follow this Code of Conduct. This policy helps maintain a welcoming environment where everyone can explore, learn, and express their artistic talents freely.
By participating workshops with Alex, you agree to uphold the following behaviours, which support a positive and inclusive creative space:
General Behaviour Expectations 👩🎨
Treat all participants, instructors, guest artists, and venue staff with respect and courtesy.
Be mindful of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities. Discrimination, bullying, or exclusionary behaviour will not be tolerated.
Use appropriate language at all times. Avoid excessive swearing, offensive jokes, slurs, or derogatory remarks.
Avoid conversations or topics that may cause distress or discomfort to others. These include (but are not limited to) references to explicit sexual content, self-harm, violence, and graphic depictions of death.
Respect others' personal space, materials, and artwork.
Participate actively and engage with class activities in a way that supports both your own learning and that of others.
Follow any reasonable instructions given by facilitators, staff, or venue supervisors.
Take care of any borrowed materials or shared tools and return them in good condition.
Seek help or clarification when needed—questions are always encouraged ☺️
Materials & Safety 🎨
You are responsible for bringing your own materials unless otherwise stated.
Do not bring dangerous or harmful materials on-site
If using shared materials or tools, handle them with care and use them safely.
Notify Alex if you have any special requirements, allergies, sensitivities, or health conditions that might affect you during workshops.
Notify Alex if you ever experience any concerns
⚠️ Conduct Management: Three-Strike Policy ⚠️
We understand that sometimes people make mistakes. If a participant’s behaviour is disruptive or not in line with this Code of Conduct, the following process will apply:
First Warning – A verbal reminder of the expected behaviour.
Second Warning – A formal warning via email and private discussion with the facilitator.
Third Warning – The participant may be asked to leave the remainder of the course or term.
If removed, participants will have the opportunity to rejoin in a future term with a fresh start and a two-strike policy. After two further warnings, participation may be permanently discontinued.
In cases of serious misconduct (e.g., physical threats, harassment, damage to property), we reserve the right to remove a participant immediately, bypassing the warning system.
Terms & Conditions
This Code of Conduct + the Terms & Conditions apply to all workshops facilitated by Alex Beckinsale. By enrolling in a workshop, you agree to the terms outlined in both.
