This course invites artists to experiment with layering, blending, and texture while developing a deeper understanding of tone, hue, and composition. Working from still life and reference photos, you’ll learn how to use this materials with both expressive and observational mark making techniques.
You will finish the course with a body of pastel drawings that feel painterly, atmospheric, and full of life. Perfect for those looking to expand their drawing practice through vibrant, hands-on experimentation.
Materials required:
A set of soft pastels.
(I recommend something middle of the range in quality to start with. This set is a great option.)

Workable Fixative
Optional: A small set of Pan Pastels.
I recommend a white, yellow, red and blue to begin with. They are also available from Art to Art ☺️
