✨ Delve back into your creativity in Imaginative Realism II ✨
Perfect for new participants or those returning after undertaking the first Imaginative Realism.
This course will build on the foundations of the first Imaginative Realism and go deeper into the skills that define the genre. We’ll look more at how to invent forms (both with and without references), delve deeper into composition and look at how to utilise acrylic paint to create final artworks.
Over 7 weeks, you'll develop a finished piece from concept to completion, exploring narrative, atmosphere, and personal style along the way.
Please ensure that you have read and understand the student Code of Conduct and the Terms & Conditions.
Required materials:
Graphite pencils
Hard & kneadable erasers
A4 or A3 sketchbook
Week 4 - 7: acrylic paints, canvas or panel board (we’ll talk about what kind in class)
Final project materials will be discussed in the course
Week 1 - Inventing forms
Week 2 - Creating creatures
Week 3 - Figure & environment
Week 4 - Colour harmony & mood in paint
Week 5 - Using paint to create atmosphere
Week 6 - Final piece — 2 week project begins
Week 7 - Continuation of final project
Please note: This course is designed for people with previous drawing experience.
If you are a beginner you’re still welcome to join the course ☺️ Just a heads-up, you might find the more advanced concepts and techniques a bit of a challenge if you’re just starting out.
